Changing Lives. One Donation at a Time. A Fundraising Drive by danamojo employees.

We’ve decided to walk our talk!

A little background: At danamojo, we offer NGOs a platform to securely and compliantly collect donations online. But fundraising is tough. Amongst other ideas we suggest to NGOs, one is to ask their employees to raise money for their NGOs.

And we decided to lead by example by putting our words into action. This September, employees of danamojo are all raising money for NGOs that they have decided. We’ve divided ourselves into three teams, and are running a fundraiser for 3 different NGOs.

And we are calling this programme the danaStars initiative – not only are all our employees stars for being so welcoming of the idea and taking it up with so much positive energy, but so are all the NGOs of whom we have selected 3.

So join us in this journey to not only make danaStars a resounding success – but also an initiative we hope many other organizations – both non-profit and for-profit will undertake.

Empower Trafficked Women for Societal Reintegration

Apne Aap Women’s Collective

Empower Trafficked Women for Societal Reintegration

Rinki, a mother of two, was forced into the sex trade over two decades ago due to financial hardship. She has been forced to endure the hardships of this profession, burdened by the responsibility of caring for her two children. She also faced health issues due to the nature of her work and the stress of her circumstances.

Her life took a positive turn when she connected with Apne Aap Women’s Collective (AAWC). Regular health check-ups and treatments at our medical camps significantly improved her well-being, allowing her to focus on reclaiming her future. Through AAWC’s literacy and numeracy classes, Rinki gained essential skills, which she further developed through our vocational training in tailoring and e-commerce.

Bellatrix: A star in the constellation Orion, and its name comes from Latin, meaning “female warrior” or “warrior woman.” This powerful name deeply resonates with our mission to support our NGO, which empowers sex-trafficked women and marginalized girls in Mumbai. Just like the star Bellatrix, shining brightly as a symbol of strength and resilience, the women we support are warriors in their own right, fighting for a better future.

Health Beyond Barriers: Medicine for Those in Need!

A few years ago, Jasper Paul was in a horrific car accident. His car was crushed, but miraculously, he survived. Given a second chance at life, Jasper knew he had to make it count.

As he recovered, he couldn’t ignore the heart-wrenching reality around him—people abandoned by their families, homeless and living in unbearable conditions. These individuals had no food, no shelter and no hope.

Jasper couldn’t just walk past them. He decided to dedicate his second chance to giving others one, founding The Second Chance Foundation to rescue and care for the homeless. Today, the foundation is a lifeline for over 200 elderly people and has rescued more than 3,000 individuals  providing food, …

Team Menkib comprising of Vijay, Tanisha, Kayo, and Shreya is raising money for Second Chance Foundation

Menkib: Derived from the Arabic “Mankib,” meaning “shoulder” possibly referring to its position in the constellation. Menkib is a hot, massive star, symbolizing strength, determination, and the enduring spirit. This can metaphorically connect to the resilience required in facing life’s challenges, including the struggles associated with ageing. Since we are going to work for older and deprived ones, we are  “shoulders” for them.
