Headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, The Akshaya Patra Foundation is one of the pioneer NGOs in the mid-day meal sector. The NGO is actively working towards eliminating classroom hunger by providing nutritious mid-day meals to school-going children since 2000. It has been recognised as the world's largest NGO-run school lunch programme.
Currently, Akshaya Patra is feeding 17,62,133 children in 14,702 Government and Government-aided schools in 40 locations of 12 states.
Along with implementing the Mid-Day Meal Programme, Akshaya Patra also supports holistic development of its beneficiaries by implementing ‘Beyond the Meals’ initiatives such as:

How your money is spent
Your generous donation is diligently used towards implementation of the Mid-Day Meal Programme. On an average, 92% of the total cost is used towards meeting the programme cost and 8% towards the programme management cost.
TAX EXEMPTION
All donations towards Akshaya Patra are eligible for tax exemption under section 80G of Income Tax Act.
