The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the education and health of children across India. Guided by the vision No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger, the Foundation implements a large-scale school feeding programme in partnership with the Government of India and various State Governments and UT Administrations under the PM POSHAN Abhiyaan (formerly the Mid-Day Meal Scheme).
By providing freshly cooked, nutritious meals to children in government and government-aided schools, the Foundation contributes to improved attendance, better classroom engagement and enhanced learning outcomes. Through a public-private partnership model, efficient operations and strong governance practices, Akshaya Patra strengthens the connection between nutrition and education.
