Kapadwanj Kelavani Mandal (KKM) was started in 1940 with a vision of teaching swadeshi education during pre-independence times. Today it aims to provide quality education, develop better healthcare facilities, develop sports and enhance livelihoods to improve the lives of people in the districts of Kheda and Anand in Gujarat.
KKM started its journey by getting schools to impart swadeshi education in the surrounding areas and gradually added grant-based schools and colleges to create opportunities for the local people. From 2000, KKM added English medium pre-primary and primary schools and then gradually also added Gujarati medium pre–primary and primary schools.
KKM has recently created a cultural center to provide opportunity for performing and fine arts training. At present, we are working on four verticals: Education, Mother & Child Healthcare, Sports and Vocational Skill Building. KKM started science outreach projects through Agastya International Foundation in 2013. KKM partnered with Kaivalya Education Foundation for District Transformation Programme from 2017. KKM partnered with Tribhuvandas Foundation (TF) to improve mother and child health care facilities in two districts (Kheda and Anand). In sports, KKM partners with Sports Authority of Gujarat to establish District Level Sports School (DLSS) of Kheda. To support DLSS and to spread awareness KKM started the Sports Outreach Programme. KKM is also a training partner for Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
All the outreach projects are supported by Dani Foundation of Shri Jalaj Dani and Smt. Vita Dani. Local officer bearers are involved intensively by giving their time and valuable skills to keep KKM in service of people of Kapadwanj and surrounding areas since the last 78 years.
Our main focus is on providing affordable education and healthcare services to the most marginalized communities in the area. We have over 13 institutions providing quality education to over 7,000 students. We have two govt aided schools reaching out to 3,500 students.
