With Coronavirus lockdown in Bangalore, migrant workers are struggling to make ends meet. To overcome this, we are distributing nutrition kits for workers and their families to tide over these tough times. The nutrition kits include dal, rice, jaggery, wheat, chikki, eggs , bananas and sanitizer are provided.

The 21-day lockdown has adversely impacted earnings of most families of SAC children. We believe it's our moral responsibility to stand by them to the extent possible.We will be providing Ration Relief Kits to 500 kids of the SAC family.

As India goes into lockdown, we understand many of you must be struggling to support your communities as many families will lose means of income through loss of livelihoods. This is the time to reach out to support those either afflicted by a coronavirus, impacted by the lockdown or simply in need of safety and hygiene kits.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact daily life in India. Daily wage labourers from the unorganised sectors have been hit the worst with their earnings coming to a stand still. They cannot go out and find work and are unable to earn a living as a result. The lack of awareness about the virus also results in fear and anxiety thus increasing their vulnerability.

Rajasthan was the first state to impose the Covid19 lockdown. Thousands of sole bread-earners of the families have returned from big cities like Jaipur, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad, where they worked to rural areas and exhausted their savings in a week. Due to climate change, unexpected hailstorms and rain in mid-March (harvest season), farmers have already lost their crops of wheat, gram and mustard. Now, the remaining produce can't be sold due to lockdown of mandis and transport facilities. The crops are blackening and perishing in the fields itself.

The coronavirus pandemic has disproportionately affected informal workers, but those who work in the area of sanitation have been hit the hardest. As access to waste has reduced and the country gone into lockdown, women waste picker in Maharashtra have been deprived of their source of income.

We must understand that our children and we can remain safe only if our domestic helps, drivers, cleaners, vegetable vendors, fruit sellers and their children also remain safe. None of them should get infected with Corona Virus or COVID-19.

Since we face a severe shortage of certain consumables to cope with the virus threat, we would be grateful, if support is provided so that the Hospital could have an adequate quantity to be utilized by the underprivileged patients and the care-givers. These kits would include N95 masks, 3 ply disposable masks, protective personal equipment (PPE) and hand sanitizers that would be provided to individuals visiting the Flu Clinic and also to caregivers.

Older people are the most affected by Coronavirus due to their reduced immunity and poor health conditions. Our senior beneficiaries face healthcare issues, age-related diseases, etc. In the slums, a majority of them live in an inhuman, unsanitary environment and are not being looked after.

Akshar has arranged with village shopkeepers to create care packages for families of daily wage earners. The shops accept online payments, and donors can link directly with shops and families from their homes. Presently most of the families are of students of Akshar Forum, but we will expand to more families.

Since the nationwide lockdown started on 25th March, several of our tribal students/families have very limited food supplies at home. With no source of income, they are now living in constant stress and fear.

Poor familes, who are often reliant on daily wage, have been severely affected by the COVID-19 lockdown. With no income or food, the families are struggling to survive.

Fight Hunger Foundation promotes community solutions for acute malnutrition. We take decisive action against the cause and effects of malnutrition in children under 5. Severe acute malnutrition, the most serious form of hunger, is deadly if left untreated and threatens millions of lives each year.

SOCHARA is actively engaged and responding to COVID-19 pandemic. We are working with the migrant, daily wage workers in 3 urban slums of Bangalore providing dry rations to them.

We do not want children to go hungry during this lockdown and so Viva India is giving Food & Hygiene Relief Kits to the families of construction workers, factory workers, roadside tailors, house helpers, rag pickers, etc.

We appeal to you to donate generously for providing Emergency Relief Kits to 300 vulnerable families for the next three months. Each kit will cost Rs. 3000/- per family per month (average family size of seven persons).

As a response to the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic Barefoot College has pledged to distribute survival kits to villages in India who are in dire need of essential supplies. The need is immediate for marginalized communities that are at a higher risk of infection and are critically low on food supplies.

Persons with visual and other disabilities are amongst the most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. While having a disability probably doesn't by itself put someone at higher risk from Coronavirus, many persons with disabilities do have specific underlying conditions that make the disease more dangerous for them. Moreover, other barriers, such as continued livelihood during lockdown periods and thereafter, access to basic necessities like food, and newer adaptations such as physical distancing makes life much more daunting for these communities.

This donation will be used to supply Ration & Hygiene Kits to the needy waste workers.

Due to COVID-19 Lockdown from 24th March, people in general are struggling hard to meet out their basic needs including food as they lost their livelihood. Tribal families in the remote areas of Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram Districts have been affected badly as they have been in extreme poverty even before the lockdown. They used to go for agricultuaral labout and earn daily wages to run their family. But, now their situation is pathetic as they couldn't go for any work due to lock down and so they have been facing hunger related issues. So, we plan to provide them dry ration like Rice,groceries and vegetables which will help them to consume 3 times nutritious food for One month.

In Madurai also some suspect cases of COVID 19 are in hospital and in the society. 65% of people are poor daily wage earners, now they have no job or have lost their job, so there is no income for them. First month they somehow managed with what they had, but now they have no job, no money, no food...

India is struggling hard to fight against the pandemic named COVID-19. This has hit the daily life of the people very badly, especially those who belong to low-income groups, daily wage laborers, the migrants and almost people belonging to all age groups. In this emergency phase, especially in Hazaribagh district, our goal is to ensure food security for the vulnerable and basic health care necessities in both rural and urban areas.

We are distributing food packets and grocery items to the street children and their families. Foundation’s social workers collect the food grains / food packets in foundation’s vehicles and distribute it in several locations in Pune city following all the recommended safety measures and precautions meticulously.

Due to lockdown, conditions of daily wagers in rural areas is extremely poor and amongst them, families of persons with disabilities are suffering the most. Without employment, they are unable to feed their families which have to put them under the risk of starvation. These families need urgent intervention in surviving this pandemic by providing them with ration kits.

Our programme participants live in bastis(slums), their families are mainly daily wage earners and have no source of income at present due to the lockdown. Vacha is providing basic essentials for a fortnight at a time.

This project provides basic grocery and medicines to families and shelter homes. We have a strong volunteer team that will call and assess the needs of shelter homes periodically. Once these needs are recorded we connect with a grocery supplier to help these necessities reach the beneficiaries.
